DE: Gunnar Zander. Liest sich wie ein neuer Name, ist aber alles andere als ein Anfänger. Der Gute war schon vor über zehn Jahren Grund zur Lebensfreude. Als Teil von elektro-akustischen Future-Folk-Funk-Bands, mit denen er Alben aufgenommen hat und international getourt ist. Der Bass und die Beats seiner Pampin EP kommen unverkrampft und ungeniert daher. Perfektes Match für Acker Records also. Die verpeilten Synthie-Spielereien und wabernden Klangfarben klingen nach Sonnenauf – oder, warte mal, ist das schon wieder Sonnenuntergang…? Jedenfalls irgendwo unter freiem Himmel in Berlin. Mit nahtlos eingefügtem Gesang kommen eingängige Song-Vibes ins Spiel. Dazu gibt’s zwei spektakuläre Remixes: Eine dunkel schattierte, tiefer gelegte Gleitfahrt von Julian Schraven sowie vehementes Kopfnicken und stilechtes Gefühlsdrama zu den Broken Beats von The Micronaut.
EN: Gunnar Zander. That appears to be a new name, but he’s definitely not a newcomer. This fellow has been pushing the limits of dance-induced joy more than ten years ago already. Back then, it was as part of electro-acoustic future-folk-funk bands, recording albums and touring globally. The beats and basslines on his Pampin EP are… well, pumping. Also, they flow in wonderfully cool and uninhibited motions. In other words: Perfect match for Acker Records. The inebriated synth adjustments and sprawling harmonies sound like sunrise – or, hold on, is it already sunset again…? Anyway, somewhere under the open skies of Berlin. The seamless addition of vocals brings on the catchy vibes of a song. There’s also two quite spectacular remixes: A deliciously dark and churning stream of dancefloor energy by Julian Schraven, and the advanced emotive drama and broken beat ecstasy of The Micronaut.
